**Attention all Project/Activity chairpersons: Please make sure to give or email me any info needed to be put into the newsletter before each meeting if you want it in the newsletter.  I cannot attend the actual meeting so I do not know what needs to be in each month.

We will not be taking any new members for the month of October 2017.
2018 Renewals will start in November.  We will also be taking new members again starting in November.
2018 Membership dues are as followed……..
Retired ½ dues (15 years continuous membership and 65 years of age or older): $ 28.00
Regular member dues with all ten hours worked: $55.00
Spousal member dues with all ten hours worked: $33.00
Hours not worked are still $10.00 per hour.  Please call or email me if you have any questions about your hours.
New single member dues: $171.00
New spousal membership dues with both people new to club (2 keys, 2 member cards, 2 badges): $274.00
New spousal membership dues with one spouse already a member: $103.00
All new (probationary) members are required to work 15 hours their first year.  You CANNOT buy your hours as a probationary member.
Dues must be cash or check (written out to Fish and Game Club of Vienna).  New members must be ready to pay at time of joining.
 
Vienna Township Neighborhood Watch Chili Cook-off
Hosted at the Vienna Fire Dept. on Monday October 9th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. $5.00 gets you chili and a hot dog.  $1.00 for Dessert.  Chili entries and Dessert donations are due by 2:00pm. Chili judging at 3:30pm.  50/50 and Basket Raffle will be there.

CCW class for October 14th, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, cost is $50.  Call Gabe to reserve a place in the class.  Gabe will also need help to run this class.  Please call him for information.
 
4-H Sign-ups – Larry Beardsley (330) 898-4486
4-H sign-ups will be November 3rd and 17th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.  Call Larry with any questions.
 
Raffle tickets are being sold for a CZ 455 American Combo
Only 55 Tickets to be sold.  Tickets are $20.00 each.  Drawing will be held when all tickets are sold or December 14th, 2017 (whichever comes first).  Winner need not be present.  Prize pick-up at Stocker’s Gun Shop in Champion.  Tickets will be available at meeting and on Sundays at the Turkey shoots from 1:00pm to 3:00pm (will stay later if there is a crowd).

HELP!!!!  The Grass is growing and needs mowing!!  Give Sam a call and get on the schedule to help.  Great way to get your hours in and help keep the club grounds beautiful for the summer.

We have New T-shirts and sweatshirts with our logo. Call Shirley for prices and sizes.  We also have a few old sweatshirts (M &L) ($7) and a few T-shirts ($2) to sell.

Trap is open to the public on Wednesdays and Sunday’s beginning at 11:00 AM.  Fee is $3 per round.  Help is needed to load the trap houses and score.

Rentals are available on days there are no club activities planned.  Charge for members is $150 (Probationary Members is $250) plus $150 security deposit which is returned after event and it is determined facility is in good condition.  You have use of the kitchen, meeting room and indoor activity room.  No ranges, indoor or outdoor are to be used.

According to the club bi-laws Article VI, section 3: Each member is required to complete at least ten hours of work each year or be assessed a fee for each hour not completed.  Article VI, section 4:  Any member may renew a membership upon payment of the annual dues hereinafter designated if he or she were a paid member in good standing the previous year.  The member must have completed work hours or pay assessment.

 

CCW Class – Gabe Illes (330) 889-2572

Class will be April 13th from 7:30am and 4:30pm at the club.  Cost will be $50.00.  You must call before April 9th to reserve your place.  Help will also be needed to run this class.  Please call him if interested in helping.  Good way to get some work hours done.

**THE OUTDOOR PISTOL RANGE WILL BE CLOSED ON APRIL 13TH UNTIL 5:PM FOR THIS CLASS**

There will be a work party held on Saturday April 20th starting at 9:00am.  They will work until everything is done.  Take gloves, boots, a shovel and rake please.  Please call Glen for more information.

 

2019 Mahoning Valley Trap League Schedule- Vienna dates- **ALL SHOOTING RANGES WILL BE CLOSED**

The league will be using the Fish and Game of Vienna’s trap facilities on the following dates: April 22nd, June 10th, and July 22nd.

**ALL RANGES WILL BE CLOSED DUE TO THIS EVENT ON ALL DATES LISTED.**

 

Chicken on the Spit Dinner - Kathy Cheliras (330) 502-7343

Chicken dinner will be held April 27th.  Dinner is served at the club from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.  Take-out orders are available from 3:30 to 5:30pm. Tickets are $8.00 each or two for $15.00.  Lots of help will be needed all day for this event.  Please call Kathy to let her know you want to help.  Great dinner and a great way to get work hours in!  Call to reserve tickets for your dinners also!

 

60 Gun Raffle Tickets – Kathy Cheliras (330) 502-7343

Tickets are available!  The event will be held May 4th at Yankee Lake Ballroom.  Kathy will be at the club all day on Saturday April 27th if you need to get tickets to her.  She will be collecting last minute tickets on meeting night, May 2nd.  If you plan on turning in your tickets then please contact her to let her know.  Tickets sells seem to be a little slow this year.  Please help the club raise money with ticket sales for improvement to out club.   For every ticket you sell you get one work credit toward your work hours.  The club gets $10.00 per ticket sold.  This is a major fundraiser for the year.  Call Kathy to get tickets or pick them up at the monthly club meeting.

 

60 Gun Raffle Event – Shirley Williams (330) 534-2929

This event will be held May 4th this year.  Shirley will need 25 to 30 people to help her for this event.  She will be in the bank again this year.  Great way to get some of  your work hours in.  Call Shirley to ask what she needs for this day.

Shirley will need 2 ladies to help her set up the bank on the Friday before the event.  She will need help from 5pm to 7pm.  Please call her if you are interested.

We received notice of our Ohio 2019 Friends of the NRA Grant.

Please thank the Friends of the MV Friends of the NRA Committee for their outstanding support again this year. Our junior program would not be possible without the support we have received from NRA Friends Grants.

This grant will provide: 1 Anschutz 9015 Club Precision Air Rifle and 1 Anschutz 1903 Smallbore Rifle, with 10,000 rounds of SK Standard plus target ammunition. It will allow us to continue to supply excellent competition equipment to our junior shooters.

Join us on the 2nd and 4th Friday each month for the National A Girl And A Gun Club Women's Shooting League meetings. www.agirlandagunclub.com.  All experience levels are welcome from beginners to advanced! We meet at the clubhouse from 5:30 pm till 8:00pm and the cost is $10 for Vienna F&G club members and $15 for non-members. Contact Pam for more info!

Next class starts May 14th and runs until July 2nd.  The second class will start July 16th and runs until September 3RD.  Shirley will start taking signups January 1st.  Please call her if you or someone you know are interested in taking her class.  Slots are limited.  Also call before classes start if you are interested in helping for some work hours.  Instructor family day will be September 10th.

Authorized reactionary targets for use on the rifle and pistol ranges are defined as a target made of steel or polymer/plastic material, not to exceed 3 feet in height and to remain stationary during use.  This does not include targets or other objects that move or change position when struck by gunfire,  examples being polymer/plastic/synthetic or metal type balls, cubes, stars, etc., gulf balls, plastic/glass jugs, and bottles of all types,  concrete blocks/bricks and any other object not authorized.  These restrictions are to insure that no errant shots escape the confines of the rifle and pistol ranges and to insure the safety of all on the club grounds and outlying areas.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Archery instructors are needed for the Federation archery classes in the schools.  Call Tom Stith (330) 637 5610 if you can help.  Each club that participates in the 60 gun raffle will receive a defibulator and will instruct one member in its use.  If you kill a deer and are not going to use it, the Federation is asking that it be donated to feed the poor.  They would like to get at least 10.  Take your donation to Butcher Holler in Hubbard.
Our club needs two people to assist Shirley in representing us at the Federation meetings.  This would not be an every time thing but on an alternating basis.  Please call Shirley (330) 539 2929 if you will help.

Archery instructors are needed for the Federation archery classes in the schools.  Call Tom Stith (330) 637 5610 if you can help.  Each club that participates in the 60 gun raffle will receive a defibulator and will instruct one member in its use.  If you kill a deer and are not going to use it, the Federation is asking that it be donated to feed the poor.  They would like to get at least 10.  Take your donation to Butcher Holler in Hubbard.
Our club needs two people to assist Shirley in representing us at the Federation meetings.  This would not be an every time thing but on an alternating basis.  Please call Shirley (330) 539 2929 if you will help. 
The 60 gun raffle will be May 4, 2013.  Tickets should be available at the December meeting.

Help will be needed Friday to set up 6PM, Saturday 8AM during the event and Sunday 8AM to cleanup. Rifle Range will be closed during this event.

Juniors need to have an adult sponsor with them for the first meeting. Those who score well at the end of the 10 weeks and are interested may be invited to fill openings on the FGV “Cougars” Junior Rifle Team and compete on a regional, state and national level.

We need 35 - 50 volunteers to help by 8:30 AM. No guns owned by the participants are to be brought to this event.

The trustees have made the following changes to use of targets on the outdoor rifle & pistol ranges. Stationary plastic & metal targets may be used – providing they are, 1) designed for the caliber of ammunition being used, 2) they are held in place and 3) they do not change location when fired on. All firing must be with the target directly in front of the shooter – no shooting at angles across the range. Targets that roll or change location when hit are NOT permitted to be used on Vienna’s Ranges

Commercial Plastic & Metal Targets & their use on Vienna’s Ranges
The trustees have made the following changes to use of targets on the outdoor rifle & pistol ranges. Stationary plastic & metal targets may be used – providing they are, 1) designed for the caliber of ammunition being used, 2) they are held in place and 3) they do not change location when fired on. All firing must be with the target directly in front of the shooter – no shooting at angles across the range. Targets that roll or change location when hit are NOT permitted to be used on Vienna’s Ranges

Johnny Appleseed Shoot is a nationwide event combining the heritage and legacy of firearms in our country with instructional shooting. This annual event will be held August 9th and 10th. Rifle Range will be closed during this event.

Any children between the ages of 12 and 17 are invited to participate in this 10 week course on safe gun handling and position shooting. Classes will begin Monday, Sept. 8, 2014, at 5:30 PM at the Fish & Game club. All equipment will be provided. Cost is $10 per week. Juniors need to have an adult sponsor with them for the first meeting. Those who score well at the end of the 10 weeks and are interested may be invited to fill openings on the FGV “Cougars” Junior Rifle Team and compete on a regional, state and national level.

The reunion, open to all past class participants, will be September 20, 2014. Shooting starts at 10 AM and ends at 2 PM. All instructors and volunteers should be there at 8 AM to set up, please.

This annual event will be September 27 from 10 AM to 2 PM to give any youth 9 to 18 years of age the opportunity to receive instruction in basic bun and archery safety and demystify firearms by providing hands on experience in a safe, supervised environment. We need 35 - 50 volunteers to help by 8:30 AM. No guns owned by the participants are to be brought to this event.

Retired ½ dues (15 years continuous membership and 65 years of age or older): $ 28.00

Regular member dues with all ten hours worked: $55.00

Spousal member dues with all ten hours worked: $33.00

Hours not worked are still $10.00 per hour.  Please call or email me if you have any questions about your hours.

New single member dues: $171.00

New spousal membership dues with both people new to club (2 keys, 2 member cards, 2 badges): $274.00

New spousal membership dues with one spouse already a member: $103.00

All new (probationary) members are required to work 15 hours their first year.  You CANNOT buy your hours as a probationary member.

Dues must be cash or check (written out to Fish and Game Club of Vienna).  New members must be ready to pay at time of joining.

 

Vienna Township Neighborhood Watch Chili Cook-off

Hosted at the Vienna Fire Dept. on Monday October 9th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. $5.00 gets you chili and a hot dog.  $1.00 for Dessert.  Chili entries and Dessert donations are due by 2:00pm. Chili judging at 3:30pm.  50/50 and Basket Raffle will be there.

Raffle tickets are being sold for a CZ 455 American Combo

Only 55 Tickets to be sold.  Tickets are $20.00 each.  Drawing will be held when all tickets are sold or December 14th, 2017 (whichever comes first).  Winner need not be present.  Prize pick-up at Stocker’s Gun Shop in Champion.  Tickets will be available at meeting and on Sundays at the Turkey shoots from 1:00pm to 3:00pm (will stay later if there is a crowd).
